Dolors Ruscha

Her kilnformed glass work is influenced by the coastlines of the Mediterranean Sea in Spain, where she is from. She is inspired by the architecture and landscape in the Park Guell in Barcelona, where colored mosaics cover the snake shaped benches. The memories of the dense pine forest and palm trees that are found in the park bring her best artistic abilities to life.

Soon after her arrival to the United States, Dolors found a job as an artist assistant, this chance opened a new path into a life journey full of color and design. She handcrafts all her pieces in her studio located on Camano Island.

“I believe my most gratifying gift as an artist is to be able to work in a medium where I can best express my love for color and design, this way I can share my work for everyone’s enjoyment too. I believe my glass to be the color of my soul”. - Dolors Ruscha

Dolors studied kiln forming glass techniques as well as metal smith and enameling at the Pratt Center for the Arts in Seattle. Her education in glass is always evolving.
